Pirelli Ambiente is the company set up by the Pirelli Group at the beginning of 2005 following the integration of Pirelli & C. Ambiente's activities with those of Cam Tecnologie. Pirelli Ambiente designs solutions for the environment and for sustainable growth.

Pirelli Ambiente is able to offer the market an extensive range of products with a low environmental impact and extremely high technological content. Thanks to the collaboration with Pirelli Labs - the Group's advanced research centre - the company's continual commitment is to design increasingly ecocompatible products and processes and innovative solutions, for example technologies that reduce emissions of harmful gases or produce renewable energy sources.

Pirelli Ambiente is formed of three companies that specialise in different business areas:

• Pirelli Ambiente Eco Technology - Technologies for sustainable growth
• Pirelli Ambiente Renewable Energy - Renewable energy sources
• Pirelli Ambiente Site Remediation - Environmental reclamation

In 2007 Pirelli Ambiente and Global Cleantech Capital (GCC) - leading investor in the energy and cleantech sectors - established Solar Utility SpA, a joint venture 50/50 in the photovoltaic energy sector.
