CDR-Q

CDR-Q is a mixture made up of the dry fraction of municipal solid waste (MSW) and components with a high calorific value, including rubber granulate, end of life tyres and chloride-free plastic.

It is mainly used in co-firing and as a partial replacement for traditional fossil fuels in existing power and energy production plants, such as thermoelectric power stations and cement kilns.
The quality of the product and of Pirelli Ambiente Renewable Energy's technology is superior to that of fuels derived exclusively from municipal waste. Its unique characteristics can be summarised as follows:

  • product consistency and uniformity;
  • type of raw materials used;
  • low humidity and chlorine content;
  • high calorific value;
  • defined mass ratios;
  • physical form of the fuel components, designed to provide uniform supply to the combustion chamber.

What really distinguishes this high grade fuel, beyond its unique formula, is its ability to contribute to reducing emissions.
